Reynaldo Nov 2020

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Reynaldo on February 5, 2021.

Reynaldo was a rescue from Waldo's Muttley Crew Rescue in Quincy Indiana. I went there to get a black female pug, but instead came home with Reynaldo. I had no choice. Reynaldo jumped into the car, curled up on the passenger seat and went to sleep.

Reynaldo faced many challenges over the years. Cancer, 4 dislocated discs in his neck, skin infections, multiple non-cancerous tumors and double ear canal removal due to massive repeated ear infections which caused him great pain. We had to consider putting him down more than once. Reynaldo always found a way to rebound. Through it all none of it ever seemed to bother him.

Reynaldo preferred to sleep under the covers and always curled up next to someone. Whether in bed or on the couch. Reynaldo always remained sweet and never more than a few feet from my side. And Reynaldo could run like the wind. The only time that Reynaldo ever showed aggression was when he would see an opossum. Reynaldo ignored deer, skunks, birds, airplanes and most distractions, preferring to sleep in the sun on the deck. Reynaldo twice came face-to-face with opossums, cornering one under the deck. I had to pull him out of there. The other time Reynaldo chased it until it played dead. Reynaldo sniffed it and walked away proudly, head held high.

We will remember him always. Though we will miss him, he now knows no pain.
